Dental Veneers Danbury, CT

Do you ever wonder how so many of the rich and famous have such stunning smiles? It is not genetics or a coincidence; it is access to cosmetic dentistry that can change almost any smile or hide any flaw. Porcelain veneers are the secret behind many Hollywood smiles but they are not just for celebrities. Anyone can have a gorgeous smile with the help of our team at Rolling Hills Dentistry.

Porcelain veneers are the quick option for a smile makeover. Crooked teeth, gaps, stains, and many other dental flaws can be hidden behind a perfect exterior. Dental veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are shaped and attached to the front of your teeth. They can last for years and can hide most dental issues that would take years to fix with orthodontics and other dental treatments. At Rolling Hills Dentistry, we offer exceptional dental veneer services to help any patient achieve the smile of their dreams.

Cosmetic Dental Veneers

The process to undergo a smile makeover with porcelain veneers starts with a consultation with our cosmetic dentist, Dr. Winokur. He can examine your teeth and determine whether you are a good candidate for veneers. A tiny amount of enamel must be removed to adhere veneers, so it is necessary to have sufficient tooth enamel to consider veneers. If you practice good oral hygiene then usually you don't have much to worry about.

Pros and Cons of Dental Veneers

Pros

Dental veneers are an easy way to whiten your smile quickly!

Every day millions of Americans eat and drink foods that stain teeth. Coffee, soda, and other dark-colored drinks and foods cause our teeth to develop yellowing. Many try to whiten their teeth with at-home kits and aren't always successful. So, one of the best options is to simply cover your teeth!

They can easily fix minor cosmetic issues.

If you have slightly crooked or gapped teeth there are many orthodontic solutions to fix these issues. However, they take time to fix your dental issues. So, you can elect to fix these issues with dental veneers instead! It's important to understand that a veneer simply covers the surface of your teeth and don't actually straighten them! Your natural teeth will still be crooked, but the only ones that will know are you and your cosmetic dentist!

Cons

They can be expensive.

The price of veneers can vary from patient to patient. It's all dependent on your needs and the number of veneers you elect to have. Most insurance companies don't cover a lot of cosmetic dentistry work, but at Rolling Hills Dentistry we have flexible payment options so that you can have the smile you deserve!

Irreversible Procedure.

Porcelain veneers are considered permanent since we need to change the structure of your teeth, and potentially remove a small amount of your enamel. However, they are also durable and last if you practice proper dental hygiene. So, if you want more information call us today!

Dental Veneer Process

Consultation

The first step of the process is a free consultation. You'll meet with our cosmetic dentist, Dr. Winokur and discuss what your goals are with dental veneers. Additionally, we'll learn more about your overall dental health and perform an exam to get a general look at your oral health. It's important to note that if you suffer from gum disease you'll want to let us know.

When we examine your teeth we will be looking at your overall tooth structure as well as the amount of enamel on the front surface of your teeth. Since dental veneers cover the front of your teeth it's critical that we know exactly how strong your enamel is! Most of the time, if you keep up with your routine dental care then you are a good candidate.

Preparation

The dentist will trim off a layer of enamel to prepare for your new porcelain veneers. Once the enamel is shaved down, we take an impression of your tooth (or teeth) to send to the lab. Usually, the veneers take about 2 to 3 weeks to complete once sent to the lab. However, once they are back from the laboratory, it will only take one visit to adhere them to the surface of your tooth (or teeth) and give you a new smile the same day.

Placement

The smile makeover process usually takes 2-3 appointments over about two weeks. But compared to orthodontic and other treatments to correct dental flaws, it is a very quick procedure. When we receive the veneers from the dental lab we are sure to check the color and fit before adhering them. Tooth preparation is very important before we place the veneer. The dentist will clean your tooth (or teeth) thoroughly and then roughen the tooth surface to improve the adhesion of the veneer. We use a special dental cement that adheres quickly.

Follow up

The final step is to schedule a follow visit two to three weeks after the placement. We want to be sure that the veneer is still properly placed with no issues!

All of our cosmetic dental patients have been very satisfied with the service they received. We go the extra mile to make sure you leave our practice with the smile you wanted. Our staff is confident that we will exceed your expectations at our Danbury office.
