Best Dental Crowns Danbury, CT
When a tooth requires complete protection or restoration, a dental crown is used as a covering for teeth and implants. Dental crowns can be made of many materials and are fitted over a prepared tooth to protect the root and pulp. As part of our general dentistry treatments at Rolling Hills Dentistry, we provide beautiful dental crowns to repair or protect teeth that fit perfectly into a complete smile.
Dental crowns are commonly made from ceramics or porcelain to match the color of the existing teeth. This also provides a durable covering. Crowns are commonly used after a root canal, as part of a dental bridge, as a covering for dental implants and for damaged tooth repair. When designed and fitted properly, they will match the bite and alignment, making it almost impossible to detect a crown versus a natural tooth.
At Rolling Hills, we are proud to offer same-day dental crown services in Danbury. We use the best dental technology to create a dental crown that will be molded, and placed in just one visit. Call today for more information.

Restore Cracked or Damaged Teeth With Dental Crowns
The outside material of a tooth must be strengthened and the interior protected when it has been cracked or damaged. A porcelain crown is often needed to protect a tooth that has been weakened due to trauma or large dental treatments. In some cases, an inlay or onlay can be used to repair a cracked or damaged tooth if only part of the tooth is weakened. Porcelain or ceramic crowns restore and fix damaged teeth
Dental Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are usually made from porcelain to match the color of the tooth. They can also protect a tooth that has been damaged. Unlike fillings, onlays and inlays are created outside the mouth and bonded to the tooth for the repair. This puts less stress on a weakened tooth than a filling and can prevent further damage to a cracked or damaged tooth.
If you have a cracked or damaged tooth that needs a dental crown, inlay or onlay, come see us at Rolling Hills Dentistry. We offer beautiful tooth restorations at our office in Danbury. We have financing plans available and accept many dental insurance plans. Contact us today for your appointment.
Dental Crowns In Just A Single Visit
Same Day Dental Crowns
At Rolling Hills Dentistry, we now offer same day crowns. We use Cerec technology to produce a dental crown in one visit. This new technology cuts out the need to send your mold to a dental laboratory and allows us to fit a crown to your current tooth structure right in our office using a scanner. In our Danbury office, e use computer-aided designing technology to create Cerec crowns in just one day. A traditional crown usually takes a week or so to complete, since the mold and specs are sent to a dental lab. Through our computer aided manufacturing process we can produce your permanent crown in just one visit!
The Same-Day Dental Crown Procedure
The first thing we do is examine and prepare the tooth that will be crowned. Initially, we take an x-ray of the tooth and jawbone to look for any signs of decay or other factors that could increase the risk of infection. Unfortunately, for some patients with severe decay or damage to the tooth, there may be insufficient tooth structure to place the new crown. In these instances, a patient may need a large filling to support the tooth structure for the crown to be placed.
Next, rather than use a traditional mold, we use a special scanner that takes pictures of your tooth. Once the pictures are taken, we input them into our software and a 3d model of your tooth is engineered. The digital model that is created is used to create a ceramic crown in one visit!
As mentioned, once our software generates the 3d model, we then start to create the tooth with Cerec technology right in our office! Once it's complete we make sure the new tooth is smooth and ready to be placed! A local anesthetic is administered to numb the tooth where the crown will be placed. Next, we use dental cement to fix the crown over the tooth. After the crown is fitted, it may be necessary to make small adjustments to ensure it feels like it belongs with the rest of your teeth, especially if you feel any issues when you bite down. All of this is done in just one visit and eliminates the need for a temporary crown!
